Exact price for BCBS Global Solutions travel medical insurance for U.S. residents traveling abroad. single_trip = one trip up to 182 days (Gold or Platinum, choose medical maximum and deductible). multi_trip = unlimited trips for a year, each up to 70 days, flat annual price. Platinum and Multi-Trip require the travelers to have a primary U.S. health plan; Gold does not. Pass every traveler's date of birth. Returns total_premium (the exact amount due, already including a one-time $3.50 membership fee) and the benefits, plus a conversation_id to reuse. |
get_plan_options | Every price option in ONE call, for showing the customer a plan picker or comparison table with toggles: all Single Trip combinations (Gold/Platinum × medical maximum $50k/$100k/$500k/$1M × deductible $0/$100/$250/$500) for their trip, plus both Multi-Trip annual plans. get_specialty_quote | Exact MONTHLY price for BCBS Worldwide Specialty 12-month plans: student (students or faculty at a college/university abroad), missionary (missionary / NGO / non-profit work abroad) and crew (maritime / ship crew). Only for people who will live outside the U.S. for more than 3 months. Not sold to residents of MD, NY, SD or WA; primary and spouse must be 74 or younger. Leave out deductible to get all six deductible options with prices. The payment link charges the first month; the office sets up monthly billing. |
look_up_coverage | Returns the official BCBS Certificate of Coverage passages for a coverage question (what's covered or excluded, limits, pre-existing conditions, sports, claims, refunds). Answer only from these passages; if they don't answer it, say a licensed agent will confirm. |
start_purchase | Saves the application for the plan quoted in this conversation and returns a one-time secure payment_url (expires in 72 hours) where the CUSTOMER enters their own card details. Call only after the customer saw the plan and exact price and clearly said they want to buy (customer_confirmed true). Needs every traveler's first and last name and date of birth (same people as the quote), email, mobile phone, street, city, ZIP, state, destination; trip plans also need primary_plan (yes/no) and, if yes, primary_insurer. If anything is missing it says what to ask. Never collect card numbers yourself. |
get_payment_status | Whether the customer has completed the secure payment page for this conversation. Returns waiting_for_customer, payment_details_received, link_expired or no_payment_link. Never returns card details. |
